Ready to explore the backcountry—but not sure where to start? This women-led workshop is designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your first (or next!) overnight backpacking trip. Whether you’re brand new or just looking to brush up on skills, you’ll learn everything you need in a supportive, hands-on environment. We’ll cover: The 7 Leave No Trace principles to protect wild places How to choose the right backpacking route for you What gear you really need and how to get it How to pack your pack and set up a tent Planning your food, water, and bathroom needs Preventing common issues Safety, emergency prep, and how to feel confident outdoors We’ll practice real skills outside, share stories, and enjoy a backcountry meal together for lunch. Bring your gear if you have it, but no worries if you don’t. This workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly and accessible to all. 15 years old and up (under 18 with an adult). Registration will be available December 1, 2025 through Eagle Parks and Recreation.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change, but due to the limited availability of our classes, workshops and trips, all bookings are final and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, we do not offer cancellations or refunds. However, you may request to transfer your registration to a future session of the same type. Transfers are not guaranteed and are based on availability and instructor discretion. To request a transfer, please contact us at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot promise an alternate date will be available. By registering, you agree to this policy.
